Over 30 years and 50,000 students, I’ve refined a system using five focus areas:

1. Rhythm  - We'll master strumming, picking, and timing so you can lock into the beat of any song. 

2. Chords  - You'll learn how to build chords and move them across the entire neck with confidence. 

3. Scales & Modes  - We'll break down the fretboard patterns you need to improvise and play solos in any key. 

4. Arpeggios  - Target individual chord notes for more professional, melodic solos.

5. Songs  - We'll build a solid list of full songs you can play from start to finish at home or on stage. 

5 1/2. Extras  - We'll cover other skills like reading music, ear training, and songwriting based on your specific goals.

• PDFs: No need to buy books. I'll email you the PDFs you'll need during each lesson. 

• Google Meet: This is high-def video chat made easy. If you can click a link, you can take a lesson. All you need is your guitar and a laptop, tablet ,or phone. 

Your Current Level & Next Steps 

Starting From Scratch 

You don't know anything about the guitar. We’ll start you with the basics, like reading tab, playing chords, and strumming. You'll be playing after the first lesson!

Beginner 

You've spent a few months (or years) practicing, but you’re still at a beginner level. If you’re learning from Youtube, you’re probably frustrated. We’ll clean up your guitar basics and get you on the right track. You'll start learning songs and soloing with basic scales.

Intermediate 

You know the basics and you've got a few songs you're working on, but your playing doesn't sound good, including clunky strumming & poor soloing. Your blues isn't very bluesy. You play wrong notes and you're not sure about the song key. These issues are easy to fix! We’ll get into rhythm & strumming, scales & soloing, extra chords, & techniques. You'll soon be on your way to an advanced level.

Advanced 

You know the notes on the fretboard & basic chords, plus modes & scales. You can strum and play a handful of songs. You’ve got good technique, but your soloing isn't great and you still play wrong notes. You're slow figuring out relative keys-scales-chords. Your blues doesn’t sound authentic. You’re intimidated by jazz. You might be using the same strum pattern for every song. Basically, you're good, but you’re in a rut.

About Me

I’m Dan Dresnok, published author of four guitar method books and a professional teacher with over 30 years of experience. I’ve taught over 50,000 students both online and in-person. I specialize in helping students master jazz, blues, rock, and music theory.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

• Are online guitar lessons as good as in-person lessons? Yes, online lessons are often better than in-person lessons. You avoid driving, family members & pets, and outside distractions. This allows us to focus completely on your guitar playing.

• What video chat program will we use for our lessons? We'll use Google Meet which is free to use. You don’t need to download, install, or register anything. 

• How do I (the student) receive the printout lessons, like the tabs, songs, chords, etc.? I (Dan) have 100's of lesson PDFs all ready for you! I’ll email you the relevant lesson PDFs during our lessons. 

• How can we talk to each other in-between lessons, like with an important question or a scheduling issue? My students can text or call me anytime.

• How does the payment work? $65/lesson. Simple, pay-as-you-go via Zelle or Paypal. 

• How long is each lesson? Each lesson is one-hour long.

• What days are available lesson days? I teach weekdays. Please get in touch with me for current openings.

• What styles of music do you specialize in, Dan? I specialize in blues, jazz, rock, & bluegrass.   

• Where do you live, Dan? I live North of Atlanta, GA. My time zone is Eastern (EST). I have students all over the US.
